Bachata is a sultry dance style that originated in the Dominican Republic. Nowadays, this style is danced all over the world. In this basic course, combine passion with rapidly changing footwork. A dance partner is not necessary, but does make it easier.

About the teacher

Carla Jiménez Estévez is an Austrian/Dominican dance teacher. In 2019 she graduated from the Academy of Theatre and Dance. Carla has travelled around the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Senegal where she gained a lot of experience with Afro-Caribbean rhythms and local dance styles. She puts all this experience in her lessons of Salsa & Bachata.

Wes Bodha started taking Salsa classes from dance legend Cacho Santos Zuni at the Griffioen in 1999. After that, he also immersed himself in other dance styles such as Bachata, Zouk and Kizomba. For Wes, Salsa is not only a passion, but also a mindset. In his classes you will not only grow as a dancer, but also as a person.
