Expat Cinema Meet-Up: Minotaur

After nearly ten years, Andrey Zvyagintsev returns with Minotaur, a gripping drama inspired by Claude Chabrol's La Femme infidèle.

The film follows businessman Gleb, who is pressured in a Russian city to assign employees for the army, while at the same time discovering that his wife is having an affair. The personal conflict grows into a broader reflection on the impact of war and power on everyday life. With the mythical references to the Minotaur, the striking visuals, and the haunting score by Evgueni and Sacha Galperine, Zvyagintsev delivers a compelling film about guilt, choices, and human vulnerability.
