In the last 2 weeks of August, the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam organises Introduction Days for the new bachelor, master, and international students. Naturally, theatre and course centre VU Griffioen will be there with info booths, workshops and shows! The schedule can be found below. Discover the art of portrait drawing in this engaging workshop by Griffioen! On Wednesday, 21st of August, during the master's introduction, we're offering a captivating session in the NU Atrium. In just 45-60 minutes, you'll grasp the essence of shapes, light-dark contrast, and various techniques. Instructions are available in both English and Dutch. There are only 10 spots, so make sure to secure your spot on time!

Get ready to shake those hips, because on Wednesday, August 21st, it's time to let loose during the Salsa workshops by VU Griffioen. With the always enthusiastic Carla and Wes as your guides, you'll learn the basic moves of this fiery Latin American dance in no time. Two left feet? No worries! It's all about the joy of dancing. Will you join us? The workshops are conducted in both Dutch and English.

Award winning comedian and city tour guide Luuk van der Vaart has a new show specially made for all students in the NL and he will be performing it for you FOR FREE at the VU Griffioen Theatre!
With cities and universities getting more and more international, it is a good time to answer the question: what does it mean to be Dutch? You think you know, but you are wrong. From a river delta to the republic, from capitalism to progressive change, University of Amsterdam alumnus Luuk will tell the real story of the NL. And since Luuk screwed up his college years, he will also share some stories and good advice that will help you survive your college years.

From Monday 16th to Thursday 19th September you can join the Griffioen Off Course Try Outs, where you can participate for free in the first lesson of many of our Dance or Body & Mind courses.
