VU Griffioen is the theatre and course centre of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. This means that as a VU employee you always receive extra benefits. You always pay the discounted employee rate for courses and theatre performances, regularly get priority access to ticket sales, and can enjoy special offers exclusively for staff. Courses - from €25

As a VU employee, you always benefit from the attractive staff discount rate, that takes an interesting percentage off the regular price. In addition, employees pay a fixed low price of €25 for all courses in the “body & mind” category. This ranges from a one-time hand-massage workshop to a ten-week yoga course. Most courses are offered bilingually, which will be clearly indicated on the course pages. VU Employees always receive a discounted rate for all theatre performances. On top of that, selected staff shows are available: for these, you pay only €7,50 and you may bring up to three guests for the same price! Terms & Conditions

Initiated by the Local Consultation VU, the forum for union representation at VU, Griffioen annually offers several employee shows and courses. With the use of the Employment Conditions funds provided by VU as an employer, VU employees are enabled to attend the finest shows or courses about ten times a year at a modest cost.

Tickets for staff shows are available only to current VU employees, not former employees and VUmc staff. Tickets for employee shows cost €7,50 each. Upon presentation of an employee pass, you can order a maximum of 4 tickets, even for non-VU employees.

For regular shows and our courses and workshops, there is only a reduced staff rate. This rate is valid only for the staff member themselves. Non-staff members pay the regular rate.
