Are you planning to visit Griffioen for a theatre show, film, course or other activity? On this page you will find information on our opening hours, food & drinks, and our house rules.
Opening hours
The box office is only open on days where shows are being performed, starting 2 hours before the start of the show. On days without any shows, the box office is closed.
Feestdagen 2026-2027
VU Griffioen is gesloten op de onderstaande dagen. Er vinden op deze dagen geen cursussen plaats, op alle andere dagen wel.

- Good Friday - March 26th 2027
- Easter Monday - March 29th 2027
- Kingsday - April 27th 2027
- Liberation Day - May 5th 2027
- Ascension Day - May 5th 2027

Summer schedule
It's harder to reach us by telephone in the Summer. You can send an email to theater.griffioen@vu.nl with your questions or if you have questions about the courses to cursus.griffioen@vu.nl
Food and drink
A night out is not complete without refreshments! Have a drink or snack before the show or afterwards at Bar Boele, the theatre café of VU Griffioen and film theatre Rialto VU. Bar Boele is also expected to serve hot meals soon. Until then, you can dine at nearby restaurants such as Loetje, The Basket, and Market33.
Unfortunately food and drinks are not allowed in the theatre auditoriums.
