Are you planning to visit Griffioen for a show, course or other activity? On this page you will find information on our opening hours, food & drinks, and our house rules.
Opening hours
The box office is only open on days where shows are being performed, starting 2 hours before the start of the show. On days without any shows, the box office is closed.
Holidays 2022 - 2023
Griffioen is closed on the following days.
There will be no courses on these days.
- Good Friday - Friday 3 April 2026
- Easter Monday - Monday 6 April 2026
- King's Day - Monday 27 April 2026
- The course centre is closed during the May vacation from April 27 till April 30.
- The course centre is closed on Tuesday 5 May 2026
- Ascension Day - Thursday 14 May 2026
- Whit Monday - Monday 25 May 2026
Summer schedule
It's harder to reach us by telephone in the Summer. You can send an email to theater.griffioen@vu.nl with your questions or if you have questions about the courses to cursus.griffioen@vu.nl
Food and drink
A night out is not complete without refreshments! Have a drink or snack before the show or afterwards at Bar Boele, the theatre café of VU Griffioen and film theatre Rialto VU. Bar Boele is also expected to serve hot meals soon. Until then, you can dine at nearby restaurants such as Loetje, The Basket, and Market33.
Unfortunately food and drinks are not allowed in the theatre auditoriums.
