Ana Hazler

This course includes 15 classes + the chance to shine in two dance performances in our theatre

In this follow-up Urban Dance course, you'll continue developing a strong yet fluid dance style. In addition to building solid technique, there's a strong focus on rhythm, timing, isolations, counter-movements, and accents.

After the warm-up, we work on a choreography that will be performed during the course presentations. Unlike the Urban Fusion course, these classes emphasize powerful, feminine, and flowing movements.

Ana challenges dancers with a variety of music styles and creative influences, showcasing the versatility of Urban Dance. Her classes are known for their strength, femininity, and smooth transitions.

This course is intended for dancers with some prior experience, as a continuation of Urban 1 or Heels 1. You don’t need to be an advanced dancer, but a basic understanding of dance and movement is expected.

The dance performance will take place in the theatre at Griffioen on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20. As soon as ticket sales go live, you will find the ticket link here.

Experiences

"Ana was a really good and fun teacher! We usually started the lesson with a warming-up to nice music and then we continued with the choreo (the last two lessons we only practised). It was very nice to get to know other students and to follow the Urban classes together. I started the course together with two fellow students and especially with the presentation I got to know the others very well."

Additional Information

Our dance courses are taught by professional teachers. We work with a maximum number of participants per group in order to ensure sufficient individual attention. In consultation, we work towards a short performance during the course presentation (this is of course never compulsory).

Language: English, but Dutch speakers are more than welcome to join the course

The courses take place on the sixth floor of the OZW building at the VU Campus (de Boelelaan 1109).
