Accessibility and inclusion

At VU Griffioen, we believe it is important that everyone can enjoy culture. In doing so, it should not matter whether you have physical or mental disabilities, what your gender identity or sexuality is, what you believe in or where you come from. We do our best to ensure the accessibility and inclusiveness of our theatre and course centre. Do you have any questions, comments or tips? Please email cultuur.griffioen@vu.nl.

Disabled parking

Free disabled parking spaces are available on campus. Would you like to make use of these? Then send an e-mail to theater.griffioen@vu.nl.

Wheelchair users

VU Griffioen is equipped with excellent facilities for people in wheelchairs. For example, the theatre halls have a flat stage making them accessible to everyone. The course rooms are also all accessible due to the presence of a lift and there is a disabled toilet.

Hearing-impaired facilities

VU Griffioen has facilities for the hearing impaired. Our equipment can be reserved by sending an e-mail to theater.griffioen@vu.nl or by passing it on to a member of staff at our front desk (on performance days, our front desk is open from 5pm). When doing so, we ask for contact details. After use, you can return the equipment to one of our staff members. Afterwards, we will ask you for feedback to enhance the user experience of our hearing-impaired facilities.

Gender-inclusive bathrooms

From now on, almost every VU building will have at least one gender-inclusive bathroom. Everyone can go here, regardless of your gender. Do you have a question or comment? Send an email to servicedesk.fco@vu.nl. See where the bathrooms can be found here.
